Christian Counseling
Scripture tells us in John 16:33 that we will have trouble in this world and in Job 23:10 that we will be tried and come out as gold. There are numerous passages in the Bible that reference the refining process of silver to the trials that believers endure. When silver and gold are refined, they are placed in the furnace and heated to very high temperatures. The gold and silver turn to liquid, and the impurities (dross) rise to the top, where they can be removed. Then the gold and silver can be molded into something new and beautiful. As Christians, we know that God is with us when we go through trials (this is described in Daniel 3:25, where Shadrack, Meshach, and Abednego were not harmed by the fire in the furnace, and God was with them); however, sometimes we need another person to help carry our burdens and travel with us through the fire. At Through The Fire Counseling, we would be honored to journey alongside you through the fire, helping to carry your burdens and emerging on the other side refined and shaped into something even more beautiful.
We offer judgment-free, safe, biblically based counseling for clients of the Christian faith, believing that healing can occur when we invite God into the counseling process and include Him in the counselor-client relationship. We believe in using an integrated approach to counseling that is founded on a Person-Centered approach, where the counselor-client relationship, including the client's relationship with God, is at the center of treatment. Great healing can take place through this relationship. We also incorporate other counseling methods tailored to the unique needs of each client. Some of these methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (which has been shown to be highly compatible with the Christian faith), Internal Family Systems, Written Exposure Therapy (WET), Motivational Interviewing, and Brain Spotting. We also have experience and training in working with ADHD, trauma, different forms of grief including disenfranchised grief, shame, crisis pregnancy, counseling after abortion, career counseling, anxiety, and depression. We also have additional training to support the unique needs of active-duty military members, military veterans, military families, first responders, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

We integrate Biblical principles with proven coaching techniques to help clients gain insight, set meaningful goals, and take practical steps toward lasting change.
